A West Goshen, Pa.-based, family-owned trucking company will close its doors after 139 years in business
. The oldest freight company in Pennsylvania, Frame's Motor Freight was not immune to the economic crisis, high costs of fuel and insurance, and the overcapacity that has hit the trucking industry, according to the Delaware County Daily Times.

The company's owner, Robert "Bud" Temple, told the publication that while the larger fleets have been able to survive the tough times, smaller ones, including Frame's, have not.

While some administrative staff will stick around to wrap things up, the companies 81 employees will be let go, half of which are drivers.

Temple told the paper the company would close as soon as all of its drivers are back at home, which could take a week to 10 days. The company plans to sell off most of its equipment. The company's equipment includes straight trucks, flat beds as well as dry vans in sizes ranging from 53 feet down to 28 feet.

The regional carrier served the eastern seaboard states of Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland and Virginia. It also served the Philadelphia, Baltimore, New York and New Jersey piers each day. Frame's opened a Richmond facility in June 1996.
