Navistar's International Truck dealers now offer Qualcomm's Mobile Computing Platform 100 Series to its customers.

"We're excited to be the first OEM to offer Qualcomm's MCP100 through our dealer channel," said Ramin Younessi, group vice president, product development and business strategy for Navistar. "Selling this product and associated services through our dealers improves ease of business for our customers and extends this capability to fleets of any size. This is just the first step, but an important one, in our evolving telematics strategy with Qualcomm."

Customers will have the option of financing Qualcomm hardware through Navistar Financial Corporation along with their International truck purchase.

The MCP100 features an integrated, color touch screen and remote control device with advanced in-cab, text-to-speech capability that improves safety and productivity by allowing drivers to listen and replay messages. It includes Automated Arrival and Departure, Hours of Service, Navigation, idle time, excess speeding, over RPM, vehicle faults and fuel tax reporting.

"It is more important than ever for fleets to improve their operational efficiency, many of our customers already use Qualcomm systems in managing their business operations," said Dave Angotti, general manager at Bayshore International. "Making it easier for our customers to obtain and use Qualcomm's MCP100 on their International trucks is very attractive to our customers."
