Mountain Valley Express, a less-than-truckload carrier based in Manteca, Calif., announced it is adding a new facility to its 8-terminal network with a 36-door terminal in Phoenix.

The Phoenix terminal covers 6.6 acres and has 8,771 square feet of dock space and 2,842 square feet of office space. It is just west of downtown Phoenix and is close to I-10 and I-17. The Mountain Valley Express Phoenix Terminal is expected to be fully operational by May 4.

"The Phoenix Metropolitan Area is a growing market and a major connection point for Mountain Valley Express," said Scott Blevins, Mountain Valley Express president and CEO. "This expansion will allow us to continue our commitment to be a best-in-class carrier for our customers in the California and Nevada market while gaining new customers in the Arizona area."

Bob Johnson has been named terminal manager for the new Phoenix terminal. Johnson has 35 years of transportation industry experience and has been the vice president of operations for one of the largest transportation service providers in the world.

Mountain Valley Express Co., Inc. provides trucking transportation and dedicated logistics solutions to a broad base of customers across the western United States. It and its partner network now offer full state coverage in seven states with 25 strategically located terminals.
