The Oregon Department of Transportation has added two new highway cameras along eastern Oregon state routes to TripCheck.com.

One of the newly installed cameras is located at Austin along U.S. Highway 26 near mile point 190, about 30 miles east of John Day in Grant County. The other is stationed along Oregon Highway 205 near mile point 65 in Frenchglen, 60 miles south of Burns in Harney County.

The TripCheck web site is ODOT's travel planning tool that provides road and weather information, driving tips, maps, commute options and other travel services, plus over 220 roadside cameras stationed across the state.

One of the TripCheck improvements made on a regular basis is adding new cameras that show highway conditions in real time. Over the past several years, ODOT has more than doubled the number of roadside cameras located in the eastern portion of the state.

Additional eastern Oregon roadside TripCheck cameras are in the works for U.S. 95 at Jordan Valley and Basque in Malheur County. These new cameras are expected to be on-line later this year.
