Bosch Rexroth, Rochester Hills, Mich., has been selected to host the Hybrid Truck Users Forum National Conference, which is being held Oct. 14-16, 2008 in South Bend, Ind.

Bosch Rexroth is an active member of HTUF, an organization dedicated to the development and introduction of commercially viable medium and heavy duty hybrid trucks in the U.S.

At the conference, Rexroth will debut its new hydraulic hybrid vehicles, including refuse trucks featuring the Hydrostatic Regenerative Braking parallel hydraulic hybrid system. The HRB system uses a hydraulic pump/motor, connected to the driveline, to capture kinetic energy during vehicle braking. This energy is then reused during acceleration resulting in improved performance by assisting the engine and reducing the fuel required to launch the vehicle.

The HTUF three-day forum will offer insight on the implementation of hybrid and other more fuel-efficient truck technologies and will culminate on the third day with over 20 medium and heavy duty hybrid trucks in a Ride & Drive at the Bosch Automotive Proving Ground in New Carlisle, Ind.

The conference has expanded to a three-day event featuring hybrid education sessions, truck and system maker product briefings, the latest field test results, military developments and market information, and the world's biggest medium and heavy duty hybrid ride and drive.
