The Truck Writers of North America (TWNA) reminds all journalists who have covered trucking-related stories in the past year that Dec. 15 is the entry deadline for the group's 2007 Communication Awards program.

The TWNA Communication Awards recognize excellence in journalism for and about the trucking industry, in both the trade and the mainstream press, as well as excellence in communication with the industry by public relations professionals.
The Communication Awards include categories for writing, graphics, broadcast, web sites and internal communications.
Feature articles, press kits, brochures, graphic designs, photos and more are all included in the scope of the program. Nearly everything except advertising is eligible for entry.
Elaine Haessner, co-founder of the International Automotive Media Awards, independently administers the award program. The entries will be peer-judged. TWNA membership, although encouraged, is not required to submit entries.
To be eligible for the 2007 award program, the entry must have been produced for initial release between Nov. 1, 2006, and Oct. 31, 2007. The deadline for submitting entries is Dec. 15, 2007. Full details and a downloadable version of the entry form are available at www.twna.org/comm-awards.htm .
Last year, the Communication Award program generated more than 100 entries ranging from newspaper and magazine articles, to covers and layouts, to press kits. More than 60 of the top scoring entries received awards, including submissions from magazines and publishing companies, public relations firms and individuals, representing TWNA members and non-members.
The Communication Awards presentation is the centerpiece of the annual TWNA Industry Awards Banquet held each year in March at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.
