The registration deadline is March 7 for the American Council of Frame and Alignment Specialists' (ACOFAS) technician training clinic called “Recreational Vehicle Steering and Handling Enhancements.” Scheduled March 28 and 29
Frame and Alignment Tech Training Clinic Deadline is March 7
in Elk River, Minn., the program is limited to 36 technicians.
The focus of the training clinic is improving the handling and steering stabilization of motor-homes and motor coaches. There will be many products represented at the clinic and their use and application will be both explained and demonstrated. Technicians will be afforded the opportunity to diagnose steering and handling problems, recommend the proper enhancement product or correction, make the installation or correction, and test drive the vehicle to assure that the correction was proper. There will be plenty of class A and class C motor-homes available, so every technician will have an opportunity to analyze and work on several.
The clinic is being hosted by Dick and Nancy Lorntson, with the assistance of technicians of Precision Frame and Alignment. As in previous ACOFAS technician training clinics, this will be a two-day program.
ACOFAS is offering this training opportunity to all technicians and members of SSA, THECC, and HDDA. The cost of the training clinic is $150 for all ACOFAS members and their employees; $200 for all SSA, THECC, and HDDA, members and their employees; and all others are $300. Space is limited to 36 technicians.
Previous training clinics have featured total chassis alignment, axle straightening, power steering diagnostics, frame diagnostics and straightening. These clinics have incorporated both classroom and in-shop, hands-on demonstrations.
All participants will receive access to the ACOFAS forum after completing the course. This forum makes all the latest technology available to the technician and also keeps an ongoing dialog between the participants of this and past training clinics regarding problems and experiences.
