Mitchell 1, which provides technical information for vehicle maintenance, service and repair, has announced that Schneider National Inc. has signed a contract to use Mitchell 1’s Tractor-Trailer.net,
a web-based complete service and repair information source for all heavy-duty tractors, dry vans and reefers dating back to 1990.
Tractor-Trailer.net will be used at all Schneider’s service and maintenance centers nationwide, giving all Schneider National maintenance facilities simultaneous access to Mitchell 1’s Tractor-Trailer.net program, 24/7. According to Tom Culver, vice president of maintenance operations for Schneider, the company has tested the product at six locations. “The color wiring diagrams are state of the industry and a value-added reference tool for us,” said Culver. “Our technicians found the entire system very user friendly and saved them a great deal of time.”
Operating 11,000 tractors and 48,000 trailers, 18 percent of the fleet consists of independent contractors that own a wide range of vehicles. “We offer maintenance services to independent contractors leased on with Schneider National as an added benefit,” said Culver. “Since our parts and labor charges are typically less than other repair facilities, a large percentage of our contractors take advantage of this maintenance service once their vehicles are no longer covered under the manufacturer’s warranty. With all brands of equipment and technical reference material at our disposal, our technicians are now able to handle the service and repair needs of our contractors more efficiently.”
Updated monthly, Tractor-Trailer.net requires no software installation and comes complete with tractor, trailer and reefer service and repair information, including sub-circuit color wiring diagrams for more than 1,100 Class 7 & 8 tractors, 1,800 trailers, and 200 reefers. Content includes service and repair information for transmissions, axles, ABS and brake systems, suspensions, over 6,000 color wiring diagrams and over 100,000 graphic illustrations for more than 3,000 unique year/make/model configurations.
