and gives drivers more than 67,000 square feet of chrome, stainless, lights and other trucking accessories to browse.
The Super Truck Showroom also includes three big rigs on display that sport the latest accessories. “So many drivers want to know what a particular item will look like installed,” says Delia Moon Meier “We decided that the best way to help them visualize how it would look on their truck was to bring in some trucks and deck them out.”
Iowa 80’s show trucks are main attractions in the showroom. You’ll find a yellow Peterbilt 379 named “Cornpatch Cadillac” that has a retro look about it and is displayed on a turntable; and an electric blue Kenworth W900 named “The Blue Ox” and outfitted as a heavy hauler.
From the top of the showroom steps drivers are greeted by a red Freightliner Classic tractor-trailer, “America The Beautiful.” This truck is currently adorned with a breath-taking mural that starts at the sleeper and covers the entire trailer. It depicts a landscape of Interstate 80 from coast to coast with the major landmarks along the way. “Building these trucks has been the most fun and a real team effort at Iowa 80,” says Meier “Now we know what all of our show truck friends go through when trying to decide on a theme for their truck. What a blast.”
The Super Truck Showroom also features a wall of lights allowing drivers to see what every single type of available light looks like when it’s illuminated. The vinyl graphics, custom t-shirts, embroidery center and laser engraving are all housed in a one-stop Custom Shop where drivers can see their designs come to life.
An elevator from the Super Truck Showroom takes drivers to the third floor and one if its 23 private showers, Library, Drivers Den, Movie Theater, Barber Shop, Dentist, Laundry Facilities and a balcony where drivers can overlook the Super Truck Showroom and bask in the glory of all that is chrome and lights.
The World’s Largest Truckstop is also constructing an expanded Food Court that will feature Wendy’s, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut Express and Dairy Queen.
The convenience and gift stores are also undergoing remodeling and expansion.
