PeopleNet Communications Inc., Chaska, Minn., announced that Dedicated Logistics Inc., (DLI) has selected PeopleNet onboard computing and mobile communications system as its standard onboard system.
PeopleNet Signs Dedicated Logistics

DLI, headquartered in St. Paul, Minn., operates about 500 units providing distribution management for a range of more than 50 customers, including the U.S. Big Three auto makers.
“One of the reasons we switched from Qualcomm was that PeopleNet offered us the tools we need in our drive to customize innovative solutions for our customers,” said DLI President Tom Wintz in the PeopleNet press release.
Wintz’s statement marks the first time in the decade-long rivalry between PeopleNet and Qualcomm that one company has the other in a new customer press release.
According to Brian McLaughlin, vice president of marketing for PeopleNet, Qualcomm was mentioned by the customer, not by anyone at PeopleNet. The company, he said, does not see the mention of Qualcomm as particularly significant.
