The OEM Business Unit of Webb Wheel Products Inc. has opened its new manufacturing facility in Tell City, Ind.

The plant manufactures and assembles high volume tractor and trailer hubs and drums for OE customers.
Webb’s investment of $24 million in this facility is part of the company’s overall strategy to focus on specific customer segments.
Kent Finkbiner, president of the OEM Trailer Business Unit said, "Customer expectations are continually increasing. Webb Wheel has historically provided exceptional service to our customers, and the new plant in Tell City allows us to put dedicated capacity and organization in place to achieve even higher levels of customer satisfaction along with the capability to meet the supply demands of the OE customer."
Tell City, Ind., offered the company a location that is close to both Webb’s customer base and to the Waupaca foundry, its casting source. Many of Webb’s OE customers will experience shortened freight time for product shipped from this location, resulting in reduced freight costs.
And Webb’s proximity to their casting source shortens the supply chain allowing for consistent responsiveness to customer needs.
The Tell City facility has been equipped with the latest machining technology to hold consistent machining tolerances and produce the highest quality parts. Also installed at this facility is a system to powder coat hubs in order to protect them from the effects of corrosion, one of the major issues facing fleets today.
