The American Trucking Assns. announced Thursday that National Carriers Inc. has become an ATA member again.
National is the third major truckload carrier to join or rejoin the ATA this month. Dart Transit joined early in May; Marten Transport re-joined last week.
According to the press release, the company rejoined ATA after a five year absence and at a time when the industry is facing rising fuel costs, potential changes to hours of service regulations, difficulty in recruiting drivers, higher insurance premiums and the reauthorization of the highway bill.
