International Truck and Engine Corp. has named Hayes Atwood, general manager and lease professional for Diamond International in Little Rock, Ark., grand prize winner of its 2004 International Walk-Around Competition
Atwood Wins International’s Walk-Around Competition
– a competition for International sales and lease professionals skilled in communicating product benefits to customers.
For his prize, Atwood got to choose between a Harley-Davidson Fat Boy motorcycle or a new Ford F-150 pickup truck. Atwood selected the pickup.
All International truck sales and lease professionals are eligible to participate in a four-round competition that requires them to conduct a product walk-around lasting 15-25 minutes, pointing out features, advantages, benefits and the value of International trucks based on customer needs.
Competitors are provided with a fictitious case and customer type and randomly assigned to do walk-arounds on either an International 4000, 7000 or 9000i Series vehicle. International judges determined which contestants advance to the following round based on demonstrated knowledge and presentation skills.
International awarded monetary prizes to 13 runners up. Prizes ranged from $10,000 (first runner-up) to $500 (6th runner-up). The runner-up winners were:
