Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers concluded a three-day auction in Ft. Worth, Texas, generating more than $28 million in gross sales.
Over 3,000 trucks and equipment items were sold to the highest bidders during the auction held on September 15, 16 and 17.
"Right now, the demand for equipment seems to be very strong. It didn't matter if we were selling pickup trucks or crawler tractors, participation at the auction was highly competitive," said David Hobbs, Regional Manager of the Dallas-Ft. Worth area for Ritchie Bros. Auctioneers. "Also, international buyers continue to be a major presence at our auctions. They accounted for nearly 20% of total sales. Overall, the used equipment market continues to maintain its momentum."
More than 2,700 people from 47 U.S. states and 30 countries registered to bid at the unreserved auction, including more than 650 internet bidders. Internet buyers made over $4.5 million in purchases and were the buyers or runner-up bidders on 30% of the items sold.
