Drivetrain combinations of Allison automatic transmissions and all heavy-duty Cummins and Caterpillar engines are now available for Peterbilt Models 379, 385, 378 and 357, Peterbilt announced.

"The new combinations provide customers with a greater range of horsepower and torque ratings with the fuel efficiency and operating convenience of an automatic transmission," says Bruce Ewald, Peterbilt assistant general manager of sales and marketing. "Increasingly, customers from both vocational and over-the-road markets are spec'ing automatic transmissions."
Allison automatic transmissions are now available with the following configurations:
-- Cummins ISX rated up to 435 horsepower / 1450 lbs.-ft. of torque (Model 357-119-inch BBC)
-- Cummins ISM rated up to 385 hp / 1,450 lbs.-ft. (Model 379 / Model 385 / Model 378 / Model 357)
-- Cummins ISL rated up to 350 hp / 1,250 lbs.-ft. (Model 357-111-inch)
-- Cat C15 rated up to 475 hp / 1,650 lbs.-ft. of torque (Model 379-127-inch/ Model 379-119-inch / Model 385-120-inch / Model 378-119-inch / Model 357-119-inch)
-- Cat C13 rated up to 430 hp and 1,550 lbs.-ft. (Model 379-127-inch / Model 379-119-inch / Model 385 / Model 378 / Model 357)
-- Cat C11 rated up to 370 hp and 1,350 lbs.-ft. (Model 379-127-inch / Model 379-119-inch / Model 385-112-inch / Model 378 / Model 357).
