Oshkosh Truck Corp. said its subsidiary, Pierce Manufacturing Inc. has received a $27 million order for 79 fire and rescue trucks and related equipment from Kellogg Brown and Root (KBR) following a competitive bid.

Deliveries are scheduled to begin this month and to be completed by April 2005.
"This is the largest U.S. order for fire apparatus in our company's history. We're very proud to provide enhanced fire protection to help keep U.S. troops secure," said Robert Bohn, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Oshkosh Truck Corp.
The KBR order includes 35 pumper fire trucks, 13 minipumper trucks, 10 medium-duty rescue trucks, four brush trucks and two dryside tanker trucks. Pierce will also supply 15 Oshkosh model T-3000 Aircraft Rescue and Firefighting apparatus, specially designed for emergency response to aircraft incidents. These apparatus will enhance fire protection for military bases in Iraq with the support of firefighters from Wackenhut Services, of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., who will provide duty relief for National Guard and Reserve units currently filling this role.
