The Truckload Carriers Assn. (TCA) will host an audio conference called "Online Bidding- Is It Here to Stay? Are You Ready?" from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (EDT) on April 22.

More and more shippers are turning to online bidding when requesting quotes (RFQs) for transportation services. This audio conference will help carriers understand how to get involved in online bidding and also understand what to expect on bidding day. Participants will learn step-by-step how to prepare their bids and what strategies to use. Carrier speakers who have had successful experience with online bidding will share best practices and talk about the benefits and the pitfalls of online bidding. They will learn the shipper side of online bidding from a senior logistics manager with a fourth-party logistics supply chain management company that manages General Motors logistics.
The audio conference will feature Kevin Burch, president of Jet Express Inc., Dayton, Ohio; Dave Burgess, pricing analyst for Swift Transportation, Phoenix, Ariz.; and Michael Caruso, senior logistics manager at Vector SCM, Novi, Mich.
This audio conference is targeted for CEO's, CFO's, operations, personnel, customer service, pricing and anyone dealing with Requests for Quotations (RFQs).
