Averitt Express, Cookeville, Tenn., has been certified by Canadian Customs as a Customs Self-Assessment (CSA) provider.

The CSA program allows approved importers and carriers to benefit from a streamlined customs clearance process for CSA eligible goods. Under the program, selected drivers from certified carriers are issued bar-coded identification cards. Upon display, these cards serve as a streamlined source of documentation necessary to cross the U.S.-Canada border.
The CSA program's benefits include faster and simpler customs clearance, reduced customs compliance costs and streamlined accounting and payment process for goods imported into Canada.
To obtain CSA certification, Averitt underwent a detailed assessment of its accounting and payments processes for imported goods originating from U.S. customers.
