Kenworth's new extended daycab for its lineup of heavy duty trucks provides drivers with more room and storage space, according to the truckmaker.

Available on the T600, T800 and W900, the option will be well-suited for both regional hauling applications and vocational customers who are looking for more cab comfort.
"We believe that a Kenworth extended daycab will be popular option with those fleets and owner operators who want to provide an even more comfortable and productive driver environment," said David Warren, Kenworth product marketing manager. "This extended daycab runs six inches longer with the roof raised five inches over our traditional daycab. The result is a very spacious cab with two more inches in driver belly and leg room, more head room and 21 degrees of recline in the driver's seat."
The Kenworth extended daycab offers more than two cubic feet of added interior storage. Available interior packages include the Diamond and Splendor lining options in standard Kenworth colors. Also available is the QuietCab package to reduce interior noise.
Among exterior options are one of the most popular exhaust placement choices, including back of cab and side of cab mountings. Aerodynamic devices also will be available.
Useful Kenworth visibility features include the 17-inch by 36-inch back window -- one of the largest in the industry -- and optional DayLite doors and corner windows.
In addition, the Kenworth extended daycab is lightweight, with an increase of 175 pounds over the standard cab's weight. "This is a very small weight addition for all the additional room you gain," Warren said. "Many regional haul operators spend long hours in their truck and want more space, but at the same time they need to keep an eagle eye on overall weight. Plus, vocational customers will appreciate the added room during the course of their busy jobs."
