Fleetilla, a Trenton, Mich.-based corporation that provides technology solutions and services to the transportation industry, has signed an agreement with Aeris.net,
a leading Web to wireless connectivity services provider for telemetry and telematics messaging.
Fleetilla will deploy its services throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada, and much of South America on Aeris's MicroBurst network.
"With innovative features like real-time alerts, status updates, remote over-the-air programming and reliable communications, Fleetilla offers one of the most compelling fleet tracking solutions available in the marketplace today," said Dennis Reno, vice president of marketing at Fleetilla.
Fleetilla provides real-time cost-effective GPS enabled tracking and communication solutions for tractors, trailers and other fleets, such as utility vehicles, school buses, heavy equipment and rental vehicles. The Fleetilla family of tracking units offers service even in outlying cellular areas using Fleetilla's Intelligent Coverage Sensing (ICS) technology. In trailer tracking applications, the Fleetilla tracking units operate in tethered and untethered modes utilizing an optimized power management program for extended battery life.
The Aeris.net network, based on the MicroBurst technology, covers nearly 100% of the U.S. population and 100% of the populations of Canada and Mexico. The MicroBurst technology operates completely within current established cellular networks, piggybacking on unused channels, requiring no significant capital outlays or system upgrades.
