EMS Technologies Inc. has announced the continued success of its joint collaboration with GEOCOMtms, architect of the leading A.MAZE solution that optimizes the routing and scheduling of fleet operations.
EMS' PDT-100 packet data terminal, combined with the A.MAZE solution, have been successfully deployed on both small and large fleets throughout North America. The joint solution is being demonstrated this week at the American Trucking Assns. Management Conference and Exhibition in Orlando.
EMS and GEOCOMtms have successfully deployed the solution to transportation customers with fleets ranging from 35 to 1,000 trucks. Customers include K-dac Expedite, Koch Transport, Royal Tank Lines, Transport Georges Leger and Robert Transport.
The EMS PDT-100 provides GPS, messaging and data transfer in real time. The goal of the A.MAZE solution is to turn a company's transportation component into a competitive advantage rather than an expense.
James McMillan, director of the Land Mobile Group at EMS Technologies, commented, "The PDT-100 has a great deal of functionality beyond merely tracking. The A.MAZE solution takes full advantage of our satellite terminal, extending the benefits of a total mobile office to drivers and fleets."
Guy Leger, vice president of Transport Georges Leger Inc., said, "Most significantly, we applied the A.MAZE Maps, which as far as we're concerned, are the most precise in the industry and key in allowing us to generate not merely good routes, but optimal routes. As well, we needed the ability to transact on the move, and that's where the EMS Technologies' PDT-100 satellite packet data terminal came in to play. The real-time nature of information allows dispatchers to make decisions on the fly, allowing them to be flexible to customers' needs, and sensitive to their company's bottom line."
