Averitt Express, Cookeville, Tenn., has announced it is now providing weekly Less-Than-Container-Load (LCL) and Full-Container-Load (FCL) services from more than 100 countries in the Far East.

Through arrangements with a broad selection of partner providers, which include access to a global fleet of 250 ocean vessels, Averitt is providing service from more than 40 Far East origin cities through two Asian consolidation hubs, Tanjung Pelepas, Malaysia and Kaohsiung, Taiwan.
Through Averitt's partner network, freight that originates in the Far East will be brought to port domestically at both West Coast and East Coast ports. Domestic delivery of Far Eastern shipments will be facilitated through Averitt's ground transportation network.
Averitt officials say the new service is geared toward shippers who are looking for multiple shipping options and improved visibility of international shipments.
"Shippers have recently become better aware of the need to be more involved in the international shipping process, and they are actively searching for solutions," said Ernie Valdez, director of international services for Averitt. "With this new service, we're providing shippers with constant cargo tracking capabilities from pickup to final delivery. And through the vessel access of our partner network and our extensive ground transportation network, Averitt is uniquely positioned to provide a wide variety of shipping options for international shippers."
Averitt will be managing the entire process from origin to destination.
