Utah has developed a web site designed as a “one-stop-shop” for trucking and motor carrier information.

The site, www.dot.utah.gov/poe/default.htm, will combine electronic services from multiple state agencies in one location to provide trucking information, forms and instructions.
Currently the site offers information such as port of entry locations; regulations on legal and permitted vehicles, including pilot escorts; forms such as IFTA/IRP applications and oversize permits; an acronym glossary; state maps; news, weather and construction information; and trucking links.
Future plans for the site include interactive forms, access to online credentialing and permit applications, trucking-specific travel information and other tools to help truckers understand state laws, rules and regulations related to trucking.
“The trucking industry has indicated it wants one location where it can get business done,” said Sam Sherman, Utah DOT ITS/CVO Engineer. “Utah is one of the first states where different regulatory agencies are working collaboratively to bring all of the motor carrier services together under one roof.”
