The Ohio Turnpike Commission is offering a prepaid toll car for frequent users of the highway.

The turnpike decided to go with the prepaid toll card rather than the E-ZPass automated toll collection system because the turnpike does not have the congestion and frequency of stops to justify the cost.
Once the card’s balance falls to $25, it will be replenished by automatically charging a credit card account that users provide in advance. Statements will be mailed every 90 days.
The program, called Ready Toll, is aimed at small companies and commuters. It will require a $100 deposit to open an account.
Applications are available at www.ohioturnpike.org or by calling (440) 234-2081.
