Quality Carriers, Tampa, Fla., the largest tank truck carrier in the nation, has introduced a new compensation program for independent contractors, which it says amounts to an assured minimum of $104,000 per year.

Quality will pay its contractors $.95 per mile plus accessorials for all dispatched miles. This Contractor Assurance Bonus structure, called the C.A.B. Program, is to be paid quarterly to contractors with a bonus based on satisfied criteria set by the company.

The C.A.B. Program is paid quarterly as a bonus based against a balance of $26,000 for each quarter. The annual contractor earnings are assured to be a minimum of $104,000, with $.95 per mile for all dispatched miles, loaded or empty, in addition to Quality's paid accessorials. Quality Carriers' time at home is based on a ratio of 1.5 days off for every seven on.
