Forget FedEx, the U.S. mail, truckstop drop boxes and kiosk scanners. There’s a new way for drivers to get truckload documents back to the boss – and maybe get paid faster in the bargain.

In the May issue of RoadStar magazine, Technology Editor John Bendel introduces readers to TRANSFLO Express. The new system involves networked scanners at fuel desks and is currently being installed at Pilot truckstops. If your carrier is signed up for the system, you can take your load documents to a participating Pilot fuel desk and give them to a cashier. The cashier will scan them and given them back to you, along with a receipt. You can view the document images on the Internet immediately using the confirmation number on the receipt.
150 Pilot locations will be installed and operational by the end of May. Pilot has announced that the system will be installed in all of its 236 locations.
Bendel talks with Leslie Berlin, president of Pegasus Transtech, the company that developed the system, about the many benefits for drivers. You can read what he has to say in the May issue of RoadStar magazine.
