XTRA Lease has ordered 5,000 more FleetView trailer tracking systems from Terion.

Florida-based Terion shipped 1,000 of the devices to XTRA in January. The remaining 4,000 will be shipped during the first and second quarter of this year. XTRA Lease has installed more than 28,000 of the trailer tracking devices on their for-lease trailers.
In the announcement, Terion President Ken Cranston says, "XTRA has taken the lead in exposing the trucking industry to the value of trailer management, and with this follow-on order have demonstrated their commitment to the value of Terion and the FleetView product."
That commitment is in spite of the fact that Terion filed for bankruptcy protection last month. In fact, in the bankruptcy filing announcement, Cranston noted that the company has strong alliances with companies such as XTRA Lease, which has assured Terion of its continuing commitment.
XTRA Lease offers basic tracking service free, through their Web site, to customers who rent trailers equipped with FleetView. FleetView devices are also available to customers to install on the XTRA Lease trailers they already have on long-term lease. In addition, carriers and private fleet managers who own their own trailers have the option of purchasing or leasing the FleetView product from XTRA.
