Profit Tools announced a new Route Manager module for its business, operations, and e-commerce software, Profit Tools for Trucking.

This latest feature expands the users' ability to easily segregate freight by zone and optimize equipment and routes.
Route Manager takes the guesswork out of dispatching freight, equipment and drivers by helping users analyze and execute orders smarter and quicker, explained Profit Tools president, Brian K. Widell. It helps the user build the most optimized, detailed route and freight plan, filling trucks more efficiently for the most profitable operation possible.
With Profit Tools' Route Manager, the user sets the criteria for zone by state, zip, company or any combination of these. They enter the freight pick-up and delivery orders and the system automatically assigns the freight to the appropriate truck or dock door. Stops are assigned to each truck and the stop sequence is geographically optimized. For increased flexibility, the user has the ability to manually route some of the orders, then automatically route the rest accommodating priority stops. A load builder function is built into the Route Manager module that totals pieces and weights on each truck, providing running weights, dispatch notes, and pick-ups segregated from deliveries.
