Farwest Freight Systems, Sumner, Wash., has selected Aether MobileMax2, Aether's wireless communications system, for its fleet of 70 trucks.

Farwest Freight Systems specializes in moving time sensitive, less-than-truckload and truckload shipments from the Pacific Northwest to the rest of the continental United States. The company also provides air freight forwarding as well as import and export container delivery services. Farwest has installed the MobileMax2 system in a portion of its vehicles and plans to complete installations across its entire fleet by the end of the year.
Aether MobileMax2 utilizes a dual-mode modem that automatically switches between terrestrial (land-based) and satellite communication pathways without driver or dispatcher intervention.
"We manage a business that provides a variety of logistical services across the United States," said Robert A. Geddes, President, Farwest Freight Systems. "MobileMax2 gives us the ability to meet our diverse operational and fleet management needs via a single mobile communication solution."
