International Truck and Engine Corp., Chicago, will halt one of its two production lines at its Springfield, Ohio, plant for one week,
putting about 400 workers off the job temporarily.
According to the Associated Press, the temporary shutdown the week of Dec. 10 will affect the production line that produces International's new 4000 series trucks as well as school buses. It normally builds 127 units a day.
AP also reports that 400 Springfield workers were laid off indefinitely last week because of slow sales.
