Flying J restaurants have announced their first major menu change in five years, featuring a number of healthier options while keeping heartier traditional favorites.

The new menu was developed with the help of trucker comments and requests. Many have asked for lighter and healthier fare. Examples of some of the new selections include three stir-fry dishes, main-dish salads, and pastas featuring chicken and vegetables.
In addition, the soup and salad bar is not included with every dinner entrée.
Traditional favorites such as the one-pound country fried steak and the one and a half pound T-bone remain.
New items at breakfast include breakfast burritos and heart healthy omelettes.
In addition to the new items on the menu, Flying J says it has enhanced or improved every item kept over from the old menu, whether it's larger portions or higher quality ingredients.
