Oester Trucking, a Pennsylvania-based motor carrier, has selected Aether MobileMax2, Aether's wireless communications system, for its dry van and refrigerated division.

Oester Trucking Selects Aether MobileMax2

Oester Trucking, which provides both short haul and long service, primarily east of the Rocky Mountains, completed all installations on the 100 trucks in the two divisions at the end of the third quarter.
Aether MobileMax2 automatically switches between terrestrial (land-based) and satellite communication without driver or dispatcher intervention to ensure complete coverage and cost-efficient communications. The MobileMax2 data terminal transmits data messages and GPS position reports via both satellite and terrestrial communication and provides data on vehicle fault codes and driver performance.
This information allows companies to evaluate individual driver and vehicle performance, notify operations when a vehicle engine exceeds specified parameters, and calculate the distance vehicles travel in each state.
By enhancing communication between drivers and fleet managers, the Aether MobileMax2 system will help Oester Trucking to increase the level of customer service and improve overall productivity and efficiency of its fleet. Oester Trucking will use the data provided by the system to develop cost-saving techniques such as managing drivers' idle time, as well as preventing damage to its vehicles.
"Our fleet serves our customers across a wide portion of the United States," said William Oester, President of Oester Trucking. "We chose Aether for its ability to provide complete, nationwide coverage at a cost effective price "
Aether Systems is based in Owings Mills, Md.
