The insurance division of the Volvo Group has unveiled a new name and approach to providing insurance, extending Volvo's capabilities originally developed for the trucking industry to all segments of transportation.

VFS Insurance Group is the new designation for Volvo's worldwide insurance operations, which previously served the trucking industry under a series of company names, including Spectrum and Triumphe. The Insurance Group operates as a subsidiary of Volvo Financial Services, a multi-faceted financial organization dedicated to supporting the manufacturing operations of Volvo and its subsidiaries, including Mack Trucks and Renault VI.
The new identity was established to better attract customers across the entire transportation industry, including the busing, construction, RV and marine industries.
VFS Insurance Group's services include a comprehensive Trucker's Physical Damage and Cargo claims program with Action Service, another Volvo company. By using Action Service's network of over 19,000 service providers throughout the United States, VFS is able to offer its physical damage and cargo customers a free 24/7 call center to process claims as well as other non-claim related breakdown services.
In addition to offering insurance products, such as Physical Damage, that cover customers' commercial equipment, VFS Insurance Group offers numerous programs designed to provide a complete insurance solution. Business coverages such as Liability and Cargo can be packaged with personal coverages such as Major Medical, Occupational Accident and term life coverage to round out the customer's needs.
The North American operations of VFS will remain headquartered in Greensboro, N.C., while global operations will be headquartered in Montvale, N.J.
