The TruckersEdge web site features a canine logo mascot named "Sidekick."
TruckersEdge combines the load resources of DAT Services with the Viastar fuel and cash-management system, including regulatory and driver-compliance services. DAT Services and Viastar are both owned by Transcore.
According to Transcore’s announcement, TruckersEdge customers will be able to access the service by phone, fax or on the Internet. They will have a menu of services including mileage and routing, business directories, weather and road conditions, and lane volume comparisons.
TruckersEdge telephone representatives will provide business advice on appropriate services and assist carriers with preplanning their next load.
Drivers can sign up for TruckersEdge on the Internet or by dialing 1-866-4TRUCKER, a phone number which customers also can use for fax and personal business advice. Drivers can also access TruckersEdge at kiosks in 350 truckstops throughout the United States.
TruckersEdge supercedes and expands on DATinternet, a owner-operator, small fleet service DAT Services launched two years ago before it was acquired by Transcore.
