Toys 'R' Us Looks to Manugistics for Transportation Management

Manugistics Group,, Rockville, Md., a provider of optimization software, announced that its transportation solution will power the transportation network of Toys 'R' Us.

Manugistics will help optimize the flow of inbound and outbound goods across multiple transportation modes throughout a worldwide network of vendors, distribution centers, consolidation points and stores.
According to the announcement, Toys 'R' Us expects to enhance product flow to distribution centers, improve the complex routing of freight movements, and enhance communication with carriers through Web-enabled collaboration.
Other Manugistics clients include 3Com, Amazon.com, Boeing, BP, Brown & Williamson, Caterpillar, Cisco Systems, Coca-Cola Bottling, Compaq, Converge, DuPont, eConnections, Ford Motor Company, General Electric, Harley-Davidson, Hormel, Levi Strauss & Co., Marriott, Nestle, Texas Instruments, Timberland, Unilever, and United Airlines.
