County Transit Opts for MobileMax2

Mobile communications provider Aether Systems Inc., Owings Mills, Md., has announced that County Transit Inc., a Wisconsin-based company, has selected the Aether MobileMax2 wireless communications system for its fleet of concrete delivery, dump and boom trucks.

Aether MobileMax2 data terminal transmits messages and GPS position reports over both ground-based and satellite communications, automatically selecting the least expensive alternative.
MobileMax2 provides data on vehicle fault codes and driver performance, which allows fleets to monitor both driver and vehicle, notify operations when a vehicle engine exceeds specified parameters, and calculate the distance traveled in each state.
According to the Aether announcement, County Transit will use this data to develop cost-saving techniques such as managing idle time and preventing damage to vehicles.
County Transit has installed the system on most of its fleet of 150 trucks and plans to complete installations later this year.
