The PrePass weigh station bypass service has earned a "Best of ITS" award from the Intelligent Transportation Society of America.
Heavy Vehicle Electronic License Plate Inc. was presented the award earlier this month. It won the top award among five finalists in the category of "ITS deployment shown to save money."
PrePass allows trucks to be weighed at highway speeds and have their state-required safety and credentials checked electronically, bypassing weigh stations and inspection facilities.
