Freightliner Trucks has signed a sponsorship agreement with racing legend Richard Petty.

Petty, the most successful NASCAR driver of all time, owns and operates NASCAR Winston Cup and NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race teams.
Under terms of the five-year agreement, Freightliner Trucks is providing heavy-duty truck-tractors and other vehicles for Petty Enterprises' three Winston Cup teams: the #43 John Andretti Cheerios/Betty Crocker Dodge Intrepid R/T team, the #45 Kyle Petty Sprint Racing Dodge team, and the #44 Buckshot Jones Georgia-Pacific Dodge team.
Vehicles to be furnished include the Freightliner Classic XL, the medium-duty Business Class, and the Business Class SportChassis tow vehicle. The trucks already busy hauling trailers containing the racers' cars, spare parts, tools and other equipment.
Freightliner also is furnishing Century Class S/T trucks to the Richard Petty Driving Experience, a stock car driving school with 22 facilities across the U.S.
"Freightliner is thrilled to team up with Petty Racing," said Mark Lampert, Senior Vice President, Sales & Marketing, Freightliner Trucks. "NASCAR is a favorite pastime of many truck drivers, truck owner-operators and fleet owners, so we expect this sponsorship to generate tremendous excitement among current and potential Freightliner customers. As a DaimlerChrysler company, Freightliner also is proud to support NASCAR Winston Cup teams that race Dodge automobiles."
