Canadian satellite communications provider TMI Communications has announced a 10-year partnership agreement with ASTRUM Comunicaciones, a Mexican telecommunications company, for satellite communications services to Mexican organizations deploying mobile assets, fleets or workforces.

ASTRUM will represent TMI and its mobile satellite network in providing telecommunications services for vehicle location, fleet management, communication with remote workers, remote fixed assets monitoring and telemetry systems in Mexico.
The partnership was made possible when the Canadian and Mexican governments signed an agreement creating a mobile satellite services protocol that authorizes TMI Communications to provide its mobile satellite services in Mexico.
ASTRUM, based in Monterrey, Mexico, is controlled by PROEZA, a manufacturer of vehicle frames, structural components and truck side rails for the automotive industries and a provider of computer application services through its subsidiary, Servidata.
With this agreement, TMI Communications of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, now offers an array of wireless services via the MSAT-1 satellite throughout the NAFTA region.
