Indianapolis-based Cytranz Inc., has introduced an Internet-based service called Electronic Trading Partner Manager -- or eTPM -- for shippers, logistics providers and carriers.

According to Cytranz, eTPM allows transportation market, tracking and transaction functions to be carried out on the Web. But eTPM will not be launched as an independent offering. Cytranz will provide eTPM as an application service provider for individual customers to create their own private networks on the Internet.
In its announcement, Cytranz explained that eTPM is built on traditional relationships between trading partners. Its function is to more closely bond those relationships into collaborative partnerships on private information networks.
"Essentially, eTPM has combined the familiar communication and planning tools, such as the phone, fax, mileage software, calculator, etc., and placed them into a functional Internet-based application," said Cytranz President Fred Soskel.
