Internet logistics provider Transplace.com of Plano, Texas, has formed an alliance with Transora, a world-wide Internet marketplace for packaged consumer goods, including food and beverages.

Transplace will provide a broad range of transportation and logistical services online for Transora customers. In an announcement, Transora said that pilot systems for the online colloboration will be up and running by the end of March.
The partnership with Transplace.com will allow Transora to provide asset management, transportation management, transportation analysis, execution and more through one central Internet connection.
Transplace.com was formed from a merger of six major asset-based logistics companies connected to truckload carriers, Covenant Express. J. B. Hunt Transport Service; M.S. Carriers, Swift Transportation, U.S. Xpress and Werner Enterprises. M.S. Carriers and Swift have since merged. In addition to its founding fleets, Transplace.com claims a network of some 5,000 partner carriers.
