Dana Corp.'s Spicer Driveshaft and Spicer Heavy Axle and Brake Group have been chosen to supply Spicer Life driveshafts, Spicer steering shafts, Spicer steer axles, and Spicer drive axles as standard equipment on the International 4000 Series "high-performance" medium-duty truck

International's 4000 Series line will incorporate Spicer Life 70, 100, and 140 series assemblies. The vehicles will also include Spicer I-series steer axles, 15,000- to 26,000-pound single drive axles, and 40,000-pound tandem drive axles into this new series of medium-duty vehicles.
"Spicer's medium-duty driveshafts benefit from proven technology developed in the light vehicular market," said Joe Sober, vice president and general manager for Spicer Driveshaft.
Spicer driveshafts, drive axles, and steer axles are being manufactured at Dana's Hilliard, Ohio, facility. Steering shafts will be made at the Lima, Ohio, plant. Both locations provide convenient access to International's Springfield, Ohio, facility, where initial production is planned.
International's 4000 series also features a complete Roadranger drivetrain system, a combination of products from Dana and Eaton Corp. Eaton Fuller medium-duty transmissions and clutches are also standard on this series of vehicles.
