Volvo is expecting continued problems with its truck unit in the U.S next year, according to published reports.

Mark Gustafson, managing director at Volvo North America, told Dagens Industri that over the last two years, the heavy-duty truck market has seen a 50 percent drop in sales. Prices for used trucks have fallen about 5 percent, which are also impacting new vehicle prices.
Truck retailers in the U.S. as a whole have seen total sales fall 50 percent in the third quarter of this year, causing 30 percent of companies to be on the verge of bankruptcy, Volvo said.
The paper reported that Volvo expects to sell 24,000 trucks in the U.S this year.
