Western Star Trucks officially opened its new plant in North Charleston, SC, with a gathering of company officials and community leaders March 30.

"By establishing this plant in North Charleston, we are not only bringing ourselves closer to our customers, but we are reaffirming Western Star Trucks' corporate presence across the continent," said chairman, CEO and president Terry Peabody.
The plant, located 15 miles north of Charleston, has been building Western Star's limited edition Millennium trucks since last November. Current production is approximately three a day.
