Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 1,335 Sprinter 2500 and 3500 vans in the 2015 model year because they’re prone to oil leaks that pose a fire risk, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said.

The vans in question were manufactured from Feb. 28, 2014, to Jan. 22 of this year. Oil may leak around the chain tensioner gasket area. In addition to increasing the risk of fire, leaking oil can also create a road hazard for other vehicles, NHTSA pointed out.

To fix the problem, Mercedes-Benz dealers will replace the chain tensioner gasket. There will be no charge for this service.

This recall began May 18. Vehicle owners can reach Mercedes-Benz customer service at (877) 762-8267. This recall is an expansion of an earlier recall campaign (14V-764).
