The Owner Operator Independent Drivers Association is encouraging its members to push for a floor vote of the full House on the Motor Carrier Fuel Cost Equity Act of 2000.

The House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee passed the legislation unanimously on July 18. OOIDA wants the floor vote to take place when Congress reconvenes Tuesday. Congress will adjourn for the year on Oct. 6.
U.S. average diesel prices were at $1.54 per gallon as of August 28, which is the highest average price in history. Prices in California were over $2 in some locations.
OOIDA is asking members to contact legislative officials who handle transportation or small business issues.
