A decade from now, Volvo trucks will be scanning the environment around the vehicle and warning a driver when collisions are imminent. The Swedish company has developed new safety technology that scans the environment around a truck and analyzes that data.

Concept Volvo Safety System Senses Its Surroundings

Volvo Trucks is showcasing its automated safety system concept for heavy-duty trucks. Using sensors, the truck can track objects 360 degrees around it and warn drivers up to 5 seconds early when a collision is imminent. If the driver doesn't stop, the truck can automatically do so.
