Delta Nu Alpha, an international organization of professionals in all areas of transportation and logistics, is hosting a webinar on the confusing area of multimodal cargo claim issues on May 15.

We live in a multimodal world and if you've got it, ultimately a truck picked it up or brought it. But liability regimes are all over the lot and are governed by a confusing combination of statutes, treaties and contracts. Even the courts cannot agree on which of the confusing standards apply to a multimodal shipment. There is no consensus on through bill limitations for multimodal moves. This chaos confounds shippers, carriers, brokers, and forwarders alike.

The pitfalls of multimodal liability will be discussed and best practices for risk management and preventing and solving multimodal cargo claims will be presented at this webinar, Thursday, May 15 at 4 p.m. Eastern time. It will be conducted live at the Milwaukee DNA chapter on May 13.

It will be moderated by Henry Seaton, Seaton & Husk L.P. Guests will be Bruce Rider, Norfolk Southern Railroad, and Marcus Hickey, Forward Air.

This is part of a series of 10 webinars DNA is hosting that are of general interest to carriers, shippers and brokers. Other upcoming topics will include FMCSA safety regulations, controversial provisions of contracts of carriage, double brokering, cargo claim mitigation, and supply chain security issues.
