The Sacramento Bee reported a series of four chain reaction accidents including tractor trailers Wednesday closed busy I-5 near Sacramento, Calif. for about three hours.

Fog reportedly reduced visibility to about 50 feet at 9 a.m. when the pileup began with a minor fender bender between two cars. Thirteen people were reported injured, none seriously, and more than 20 vehicles were damaged. The accidents trapped more than 100 vehicles.
Southbound traffic was rerouted at Highway 113. One lane of traffic was open by noon. All lanes of southbound I-5 were open by about 3 p.m., the Bee reported.
