The California Department of Transportation is planning a comprehensive web site to give drivers information on delays caused by construction and traffic accidents.

According to the Sacramento Bee, an early version of the site will be available next month and will show yellow cones designating where construction has closed lanes or caused traffic delays.
The full version of the site will be available by Thanksgiving and will include real-time traffic patterns and incident reports from the California Highway Patrol.
Warren Hoemann of the California Trucking Assn. told the paper the site will be a valuable tool for dispatchers and truckers.
The site will be accessible from the Caltrans home page at www.dot.ca.gov.
